OTB

It has been on sites (probably Hughs , I know Iknow) that his team have sat and listened to our offers, and left without making much comment

That's a brilliant response. I love how you know how he's responded. Just because nothing's been in the papers doesn't mean they haven't responded.

He's not "engineering" a move, he's letting his contract expire, as he has every right to do. What he owes us is to try his hardest from the start to the end of that contract, nothing more - and he's done that.

I'm assuming you didn't think that Matt Taylor shouldn't have been signed up for longer - he was loyal, he didn't want to leave, so surely he should have been signed up for longer? Or does loyalty only work one way for you?

You think that Bobby Moore is a cunt.

It's not clear he wants to move on.

Newspaper reports suggest he has told the club what he wants and they have offered less.

So, a player that says "I'll stay for £???" doesn't want to move on. They want to stay. But they will only do so if they get what they feel they deserve. if the club doesn't pay it then the player moves but it's not down to the player wanting to.

It may sound like holding a gun to the clubs head but that is they way of it these days. You pay the player what they want or they fuck off.

By not dignifying anything we have offered in any way. His and his agents silence speaks volumes.

Silence is more dignified than plastering details of contract negotiations over Twitter.

People getting their nickers in a twist over a player holding out for a better deal on his agents advice ?

If Winston decides there`s better out there for him and see`s out his contract then good luck to him. If however he is photographed in the local rag months beforehand wearing a Man Utd top then cunt away

Re: Getting fed up with Winston ....
I would love him to stay, but it is quite clear that he wants to move on. I read somewhere that he asked for 75K a week, but we only offered sixty. I personally think that in today's massively over inflated salaries, it is worth paying the extra and tying him down for another five years.

Re: Getting fed up with Winston ....
if he doesn't agree a new contract then we have to sell don't we or loose him for free in the summer. We also need a bidding war to get decent cash for him.

Best position is he agrees our offer.

Re: Getting fed up with Winston ....
There is the possibility that Winston has been checking out his options, and why not? and that he has made a decision that if we win the next four games, he will sign a new contract on New Year's Eve.

I won't start cunting one of our better players until I'm sure he deserves a cunting.

Re: Getting fed up with Winston ....
How, exactly, has Winston 'made it clear' he doesn't want to be part of our future?

I don't recall him saying anything at all.

Re: Getting fed up with Winston ....
In this age anyone who has been shown loyalty by a club and been given a decent pay offer and then engineers a free transfer opportunity by refusing to negotiate is a "judas bastard" in my book. I hope that if he goes he bench warms at a club who aren't in Europe.

Hang on. I thought people who stayed were cunts. Now it's people who leave. Make your mind up!

"judas bastard"

Wow.

Still, as I said earlier in the thread, you must think that Bobby Moore is a massive cunt.

Re: Getting fed up with Winston ....

I retract. It's Moore than a job. It's more akin to being in a band. People who leave bands are generally cunts.

Iron Duke 10:02 Wed Dec 10
Re: Getting fed up with Winston ....
In that case, you must think that Bobby Moore, Trevor Brooking and Billy Bonds are all cunts.

Scraper 9:59 Wed Dec 10
Re: Getting fed up with Winston ....

It's a job

Anyone who stays in the same job for more than 3 years is generally a cunt

JonNash 9:56 Wed Dec 10
Re: Getting fed up with Winston ....
I'd buy in January and leave the judas bastard out of the squad for the 2nd half of the season. He has made it clear he doesn't want to be part of our future and we need to ensure that while things are going well we blood a future centre half so next season isn't fresh at the back
